Availablility Heuristics
By Dominic Wood
Human beings suffer from an interesting cognitive phenomenon known as Availability Heuristics. This is the tendency to allow the apparent strength or weight of past events to dictate one's regard of future events, This can also be the result of injecting false events (imagining them) or suggestive advertising from mass media. A good example of Availability Heuristics is when one considers stock exchange investors and how they react to the highs and lows of the stock exchange!
